The Hometown Heroes Banner Program recognizes and honors the service of Georgetown residents and family members who served in the armed forces. The Town of Georgetown Hometown Heroes Banner Program recognizes our community’s men and woman in uniform who are currently serving in the armed forces, veterans who have served in the past. Banners will be designed, printed, and installed honoring these individuals on an annual basis (installed yearly before Memorial Day, taken down and stored after Veterans Day, Program will run through our Nations 250th anniversaryyear-2026). Each banner will feature the individual’s photo, name, branch of service and/ or credentials. The Banners will be displayed on telephone polls starting from Georgetown Center, main streets. Please return the completed forms and a high-quality photograph (electronic form, jpeg image/photograph or printed) to Kiwanis Club of Georgetown P.O. Box #5Georgetown, MA 01833 Banners will be ordered starting March 2025. Additional orders will be made per month, per year, as required.**Please note that we cannot be responsible for pictures that are faded in anyway and that pictures will not be returned. A one time, $195.00 charge will be required to purchase banners, brackets, and general upkeep. Financial assistance is available per review (some Georgetown Veterans may not have current or local family members able to support this program, our goal is to provide financial support for as many Veterans as possible, where correct information can be provided)
Eligibility• Honorees must be currently serving in the U.S. Military, a veteran of the U.S. Military, discharged under honorable conditions.• All honorees must be Georgetown Residents• Residency requirements can be waived if the honoree graduated from Georgetown High School or is an immediate family member of a Georgetown resident (spouse, mother, father, daughter, son, brother, sister
